Even if both sides are willing to sincerely commit to engaging with each other, which seems somewhat doubtful, the process is one that would take decades and full with uncertainties, even in the short-term. In particular, I think it is unlikely that Trump, a strongly domestically-oriented president, would be willing to pay strong attention to North Korea throughout his office term. This is evident in the lack of preparation he had done before the meeting.

However , first of all , we have to understand clearly that this is not “negotiation” but this is “meeting ” . Hence, specific and concrete expectations from this meeting can not be regarded as obvious analysis . On the other hand, the summit itself was held for the first time between the extraordinary leaders of extrmely different country – capitalist and communist with decades long antagonism of war and nuclear proliferation. Hence, the joint agreement, thogh it seems to be broad in nature can be regarded as tremendously positive at least paving the way for more smooth relationship between these nuclear power rivals .
Furthermore, the new practice for ” reciprocity diplomacy” has seemed to be a successful means to prevail sustainable peace and harmony in the world. But , the geopolotical perspectives in east Asia including thr interest of China , South Korea and Japan may be another interesting aspect to in this regard. Also, there is still thr grey zone and skepticism for enduring and sustainable peace and irreversible total denuclearization of korean Peninsula . Hence , conclusively, the songapore meeting between Kim and Trump can be viewed as postive first step towards challenging path for future amid the less predictable policy of trump administration!!

In my humble opinion the Generals in Myanamar continue on their merry way but now with greater trading freedom, meanwhile the people gain nothing and we have seen the ethnic cleansing of the Rohyinga people whilst the West and US sit by and do nothing.
As with Myanamar Kim will pull the wool over the eyes of his adversaries make the gains he wants and at home nothing will change.
Am I a cynic no a realist !

For both the US and Japan, there is no achievement because Trump could not promise CVID with Kim and denuclearization was not mentioned clearly. I think equal relations between the US and North Korea was emphasized in this summit but I feel like Trump was too compromising with Kim Jong-un and Kim did not yield to the pressure of the US.

He’s no president, he’s only a resident in the White House. And Grump…I mean, look at that face!
