APPS Conference 2014 – Adrian Kay

Adrian Kay, Professor of Government at Crawford School of Public Policy at The Australian National University, gave this presentation titled “The institutional consequences of dealing with non-communicable diseases” at the Asia and the Pacific Policy Society Conference in September 2014.

Non-communicable and water-borne diseases rank among the most daunting challenges affecting the health and development prospects of people in the Pacific Islands. The Asia and the Pacific Policy Society conference ‘Confronting the region’s health challenges’ held on 17-18 September 2014 at The Australian National University’s Crawford School of Public Policy explored practical policy options for governments concerned to address these challenges,  including what public finance, regulatory, health system and whole of government issues these options involve, and what development partners and regional institutions can do to help.
