At this stage there’s very little anyone can do, except hope that nothing worse than what’s been reported in the couple of days happens. Going forward, the government has to treat elections as a process. Common roll Update, census, review of laws, adequate funding etc., needs to be prioritized. It has to be a five year pre-occuption.

Thanks GJ. All signs pointed to a troublesome elections even before it began. But the government did little to minimize it.

However, what is missing is what I’d term neo-triblism that includes aspects of tribal identity, economic expectations, personal gain candidates anticipate, that many candidates focus on micro-centric issues associated with their electorate and in a majority of cases lack both a nation wide as well as international perspective.

They bring this attitude to the coastal Areas and especially in NCD, they is a lot of rigging, double voting, with collaboration from scrutineers, Electoral officers, Police and the general public. Many good leaders with good intentions especially the Female are marginalized and when they see this rot, they can only cry because they are not loosing anything but they see a country going to the dogs. We love this county but this attitude is a pandemic that I believe started from the very top to the followers down below. I hear from the streets, there is already public knowledge that the winners are already known. So what does this mean? Money did the talking and the populace is wasting their time standing on long lines, leaving their jobs and coming to fill in forms that does not mean anything.
People must stand up for the beloved country PNG. If we cannot remove this Pandemic, let us divide and run our own Regions. I call upon the citizens of this country to recognize this pandemic and speak out and do something. I for one do not accept this behavior and will stand to support any movement to eradicate this behavior.

FED UP

Not really optimistic about election outcomes, home lessons learnt this time around will be taken into consideration. Keep up the great work Mike and Henry!
