Chris Farnham

Chris Farnham is the presenter of the National Security Podcast. He joined the ANU National Security College in June 2015 and is currently Senior Outreach and Policy Officer. Prior to joining the ANU, Chris was a soldier in the Australian Army, and an analyst for think tanks and private intelligence companies where he focused on geopolitics and East Asian regional security.

Previous to his time at the NSC Chris was the National Operations Manager at the Australian Institute of International Affairs (AIIA) where he was responsible for the day-to-day running of the AIIA National Office, supervising the AIIA national internship program, liaising with state and regional offices and management of AIIA events.

Prior to joining the AIIA Chris was the Senior Watch Officer and Senior Strategic Adviser for Australasia and Southeast Asia for Stratfor Global Intelligence. Among his responsibilities in these roles was contributing to organisational net assessments and analysis, client briefing and reporting, conducting assessments of quarterly, half yearly and annual forecasts and managing challenges to regional and country net assessments.

Before his career in national security and international affairs Chris was a soldier with the 3rd Royal Australian Regiment airborne battalion.
